Phase I construction is about to commence!
Thanks to generous donors just like you, Phase I construction of Stellar Vista Observatory, shown in the inset at the right, is about to commence using funds already raised. Phase l includes installation of utilities, roadways, restrooms, parking and walkways, portable telescope storage, shade structure, an informative scale model of our solar system along a 3-mile paved trail adjacent to the observatory site, and a 6,000 sq ft. open air plaza where SVO’s astronomy interpreters will conduct public star parties and private night sky experiences.
SVO is currently raising funds to construct Phase II as shown below. When complete, Kanab’s new astronomical observatory will include two pier-mounted telescopes beneath a roll-off roof, office/reception area, a 40-seat classroom, and enlarged outdoor viewing plaza. New large aperture telescopes will enable observations far deeper into the cosmos.

Throughout both phases of construction, SVO will continue its active program of community engagement, delivering dozens of free public star parties annually, speaking to students, consulting on dark sky-friendly outdoor lighting, and providing opportunities in daylight to safely observe the surface of our blazing Sun.
Thank you for supporting the cultivation of curiosity and wonder!
